ONE’S AREAS OF FOCUS:
Community Safety & Well-Being:
Between September 2024 and March 2025, ONE offered a resident-led series of virtual talks on “Community Safety & Well Being”. We are thankful for the opportunity to have learned from various public educators from London Police Services, London Fire Department who shared their knowledge and expertise on topics such as:
- Cyber Crimes: Scams, Frauds and Safety
- Crime Prevention: Protecting Your Home and Neighbourhood
- Teens, Sexting and the Canadian Law
- Fire & Life Safety Essentials, Prevention and Control
For the 2025-2026, ONE hopes to delve deeper into this broad based topic and area of focus with the goal of provide educational and awareness opportunities to residents on issues that should matter to them and their neighbourhood community. Watch for email announcements on our next series of talks!
The Environment:
In December 2024, Greening Sacred Spaces approached ONE inviting the organization to be a pilot project for Nature Canada’s “Tree Canopy for All” project aims to increase tree canopy cover in communities, focusing on equity and access to the benefits of trees, such as improved air and water quality, reduce urban heat island effect, and enhanced community well-being.
